Thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers! It’s been a long, very long, couple of days. I apologize for not updating sooner but believe me when I say, I have been run ragged. Bob’s open heart surgery to repair his aortic aneurysm went well – they had to do a single bypass too. So, it was a bit more than originally expected. There were a couple of bumps coming out of anesthesia, and he had a bad reaction to an antibiotic, but once we got him through that, everything started to improve. Bob has really amazed everyone! He walked the halls today and had three meals!

When I left him today, both of our kids were arriving and they couldn’t believe how good he was doing either. We’re all very much relieved and looking forward to him coming home in just a couple of days. I have to say the surgeon, his team, and everyone at North Florida Cardiac Vascular ICU is amazing. I did stay at the hospital last night and have had no sleep so I’m headed to bed very soon. I’m really looking forward to sleep! Again, thank you all very much!

Bob went to town this afternoon to get hay, grain, etc. and was hit by someone which damaged the rescue’s truck and trailer. Thankfully, Bob is ok and that’s what matters. There’s never a good time for an accident but today was really not a good time – Bob is having surgery tomorrow to repair an aortic aneurysm. His healing process will take approximately two months. I’ll be at the hospital all day tomorrow but I’ll update as I can. Please keep our family, especially Bob, in your prayers

Jeanne started a fundraiser entitled ‘Beauty of the Heart’ to help with the expenses of the Beauty’s Haven herd so please click here for detailed information and ways that you can help.

It’s been awhile since I’ve provided an update on Joie and Rosie, the little feral girls that arrived at Beauty’s Haven in early June. They’re doing extremely well and with much patience and love, they have learned to trust. Rosie’s “baby bump” is a bit larger and both she and Joie are absolutely beautiful and happy little horses. Please click here to view their remarkable transformation.

Ceri and Garan settled in well at their new home – it isn’t the same without them but they have their own human family now – just in time for Christmas!

It was a busy day today but we did get to have some fun. The weather wasn’t great though.

ADORABLE!

Magnum is doing well but still needs to gain weight. We gave him another good bath today. He had many open sores on the sides of his face, chest, legs, and under his tummy when he got here a couple of weeks ago but they have mostly healed. His little buddy Pistol, the mini jack, will be gelded next week.

It’s a little dark but this is Molly watching GMan eat from the big bale of hay under the shelter. She’s feeling great and is all over the place. She swings her neck/head around just like an Arabian and is a joy to watch!

Beauty – it’s because of her that Beauty’s Haven “is”.

CJ ran and played today even though he is permanently lame and needs a home as a pasture pal where, ideally, there is only one or two other horses. Here, there are so many horses and anytime others start running, he wants to join in. He needs calm. It really bothers me when he tries to run – he’s lame and it makes him so uncomfortable. Please help us to find him a suitable home. No adoption fee.
