As in years past, we will continue our Giving Tuesday fundraiser as our Year-End Campaign! BRRR, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE!

Hey Everyone!

Mishka here! With the cold weather upon us, me and my horsey and donkey friends go through much more hay than we do during the warmer months so I just want to let you all know that it is time for another hay run! We are in need of two tons of orchard hay ($610 each) and three large compressed bales of hay ($110 each) for a total of $1550.

I have some wonderful news though! A very special Auntie has offered to match all donations up to $1000 so for each dollar donated, your gift will double!

With the devastating loss of our sweet Baby Hope last week, our Match Game for Hay seemed of little importance and was temporarily, put aside. We only have enough hay for today, however, and we still have $480 remaining in Matching Funds, so if anyone would like to assist with this need, it would be so greatly appreciated.

Another Sweet Mare in Dire Need

It just never stops. This mare is Jo’s friend – they lived together for many years, but she also needs to come to the rescue. Bloodwork was done and the results aren’t great. The mare may not look too bad on the outside, but she has a number of issues and the vet suggested we get her here sooner than later. Cooler temps and rain is predicted, so we’re trying to bring her here today. She needs help with everything: dental, vetting, farrier, supplements, etc.

A dear friend and supporter of the rescue has offered a $300 Match Game whereby every dollar donated to help this mare will be matched until we reach $300. At that time, the $300 in donations will morph into $600! All donations are tax deductible and no amount is ever too small. The mare also needs monthly sponsors to help with her ongoing needs. Automatic monthly sponsorship donations can also be set up via our website.

Don’t Despair, Domino!

The look on Domino’s face last evening when she learned the hay trailer was empty and there was only enough remaining to fill the hay bags for today, was priceless!

But do not despair, Domino, two wonderful ‘Aunties’ have joined forces and are offering a Match Game, whereby, all donations up to $500 will be matched dollar for dollar!

Hey Everyone!

All the humans here at the farm are busy taking care of my horse and donkey friends, Hope the baby cow, and the cats and dogs, so I thought I would try to help raise funds for this week’s Hay and Forage Run. We only have enough hay to last the day, so we hope to raise $610 for a ton of 3 string orchard hay and $154 for 7 bags of Triple Crown Forage. We also need to order vaccines to help keep all of equines here at the rescue healthy and happy. We need two ten-dose vials of 5-way vaccines at a cost of $240 per vial. If anyone would like to help with these needs ($1224), we would be forever grateful!

A wonderful friend and supporter has also come forth to offer a Match Game whereby all donations up to $250 will be matched dollar for dollar so this is a great opportunity to double your donation!

Mommy’s Little Helper

Hey Everyone!

It’s me, Hope! It’s so, so hot here all I want to do is sleep under the tree in the shade with my friend Jerry!  Mommy Theresa is very busy taking care of me, Jasmin, the doggies, the cats, the donkeys and the many horses here at the farm, so I thought I should help her with this week’s Hay Fundraiser! Our hay is almost gone and we need to raise money to help feed my horsey and donkey friends.

SHHH! It’s a Surprise!

Hi Everyone,

I spoke to Theresa this morning and she is quite overwhelmed to say the least! The horrific lightning and extremely strong winds coupled with driving hail, had a devastating effect on the farm.  The horses, donkeys, dogs, kittens were all quite terrified throughout the ordeal, but thankfully, all seem to have settled down by this morning.

As Theresa mentioned earlier, one of our custom-built shelters was totally destroyed as you can see in the images above, and boards and debris are strewn throughout the farm. Fences and several of the barn’s large motion sensor security lights and cameras are down (non functioning) as well. Theresa believes that the barn must have received a direct lightning strike as Bob had quite a shock yesterday when turning the door knob to the feed room! There is also a new ‘lake’ on the property which the horses do not seem to mind at all!

I would like to start a fundraiser to help Beauty’s Haven with the cost of repairing and replacing all that was lost or damaged, but presently, I do not have an estimate as to the amount needed. Please keep this a secret, though, as we would like to surprise Theresa!

A Match Game For Our Special Needs Horses!

We are in need of a pallet (50 bags) of Fibre-Beet from Emerald Valley as we are down to our last four bags. Buying it by the pallet directly from Emerald Valley is the most economical way in which to purchase this amazing product (even with the cost of shipping.) Elyza Rose, Little E and other special needs horses that comprise our beloved little herd, are fed Fibre-Beet daily. Some are fed multiple times a day (smaller portions). The product is soaked in water and fed as a mash.

When we have colicky horses, this product is a great way in which to keep them hydrated. Fibre-Beet is excellent for horses that have, or are at risk for, laminitis, ulcers, and Cushing’s.
