Solace’s blood work is slightly better!!  He is no worse and that is what we were praying for today. Thank you God!

The mini mare’s settled in – both are very sweet. They don’t seem to have had much handling but they will come around. Tomorrow they will start their day by seeing Dr. Ryan. Then they will get much needed hooficures by Fabio.

We are supposed to have temperatures in the 80’s again tomorrow so hopefully after their busy morning we can give them a bath. Many thanks to everyone for helping these girls – they are both due to foal in March which isn’t that far away! No more babies for either of them!

Solace had a good day. He is still skin on bones but he has gained weight. Once we get him past his pneumonia and internal bleeding issues his weight gain will improve. Tomorrow blood work will be done again to see how he’s doing. Let’s pray hard that the internal bleeding is better – we need a miracle. I believe…

Good night everyone – God bless and have a wonderful day tomorrow!

I want to share artwork by Greg Ambrose that he just sent to me – I love it! We will be getting the girls cleaned up soon – they have quite a few huge burrs in their matted hair. It’s a little hard for me to do it because I have no feeling or sensation in my hands and I accidentally rub the ones that can’t be seen and it hurts the little ones which makes me feel bad.

Thanks Greg!

They are here! I’ve promised them they will never be bred again. Dr. Ryan will be out tomorrow. And Fabio will be out in the am to take care of their overgrown feet. The one on the left is 19 years old. The one on the right is supposed to be about 10.

God bless and thank you all for helping them!

We have enough funds to cover their initial month but we still need help with their monthly care – if just 10 people can donate $10 a month for at least 6 months we should be good to go. Anyone? I’d love to get them here today.

We have enough pledges/donations to bring her in and cover her first months expenses. She has two monthly sponsors but needs more. We would really like to keep her and her pregnant 18 year old friend together but we need another $350 for her first month’s care and she would need monthly sponsors as well.

Monthly sponsorship means a donation of any amount. And no amount is too small. All donations are tax deductible. To make a donation you can go to https://www.bhfer.org/oldsite/donate.html. If you want to make a pledge for mini mare #2 please email me and put "Mini mare #2" in the subject line. I’m really beat so I’m calling it a day. Thanks everyone!

Solace did really well for his transfusion which seemed to take forever! Let’s pray this gives him the boost he needs to pull through. He didn’t cough today, his temperature was normal, no snots, and his appetite was great. His attitude is positive and his eyes are bright and lively.

Thank you all for caring – please keep him in your prayers.

Dr. Clark called and the good news is that Solace does not have histoplasmosis. The bad news is that values in the blood drawn today were even worse. He is bleeding out and they don’t know why. They are pulling blood from their blood donor horse and will be out to do a transfusion soon. I can’t imagine going backwards in his recovery. Please continue to pray for Solace.

There are a couple of pregnant mini mares that need help. They have lived out to pasture and used as breeding machines. The most concerning to me is a 20 year old. She looks depressed and she is full of sticky burrs. Her feet are horrible – walking on them can’t be comfortable much less walking on them being pregnant! We want to bring both of them in but this mare needs us the most. We need help with her vetting and care. Please – can anyone help us to get this girl out of this situation? If we can get sponsors for the other mare we will bring her too.

We need first month’s vetting, dental, farrier, and routine care for the 20 yr old. And then we need sponsors for her monthly care for 6 months. The mares are due to foal in April. The vet examined them this am and said the one (20 yr old) may have problems. Yes, I would feel absolutely horrible leaving the other mare behind – we would like to help them both which means we’d need double sponsorships.

Some good news – Starbuck and Dora are being adopted together!!! We’d like to ask that those that have been helping with their monthly care consider switching over to help this mare(s). Rayo has been adopted and will be leaving over the weekend – this would free up a paddock for the mare(s).

I have to run – awaiting on a phone call from the vet on Solace’s CBC pulled today – need to go give him his meds. I’ll update when I know more.

If you can help with the mini mare(s) please LMK and put Pregnant Mini Mare in the subject line. Thank you!

He did very well today and didn’t run a temperature once – and no snots or coughing! The sun was out and it was a very beautiful day! Here he is trying to nap after getting breakfast. He’s incredible!
