10/3/13 Thursday Update

Just a quick update on Betsy Rose! She had a surprise visitor today – Ola came to see her and give her a hooficure! Yesterday’s acupuncture/chiropractic treatment really helped and that, combined with today’s hooficure, has made her much more comfortable. She’s walking much better and the soreness in her hip/leg is better. She now wants to take me for walks. Better is always good.

Betsy Rose is still fragile and will be for quite awhile. Each day she is with us is a blessing. She’s getting the best of combined medicine/treatment and is making progress. What is in the best interest of each horse, quality of life, together with the horse’s attitude, all play a factor in our decision making process. Tests, diagnostics, consultations, etc. are done – we don’t make decisions on a whim.

Betsy Rose’s body had been robbed of everything – cannibalizing itself to survive. But nobody could take away her love for life and her will to survive. Betsy Rose NEVER gave up and she has defied all odds. And no matter how long God gives us with her, she knows she is loved. Thank you all for believing in her and for helping us to help her.
