This is an urgent matter and we would appreciate your help. We’ve been hit very hard these past few months with horses that were adopted out years ago but had to come back to us (through no fault of their own). We try hard to match the right horse to the right human in situations where we are assured that the horse(s) will become a permanent family member and have a loving forever home. But, as we’ve experienced over the last year or so, people’s priorities change, illness is real, jobs require relocation and they can’t take the horse(s), the adopter’s interests may have moved on to something new, etc.

Two Arabian mares, Nadia and Venus, were returned by their adopter who had been ill. She could no longer care for these sweet girls so she sent them back to us. Sadly, the adopter passed away last week. She found comfort knowing that Nadia and Venus would be okay.

Recently, we had to reclaim two Arabian geldings, Mo and Derek, that were at high risk due to a breach of contract – it was not a good experience for us, or the horses, but we are grateful that both were located and are now safe here at the rescue. They are both undergoing rehabilitation.

And now – the urgency. There are three horses (Anastasia, Jack, and Velvet) that were adopted out in 2010 that need to be re-homed ASAP and we are simply full. We have no paddocks in which to put these horses and, even if we did, we don’t have the needed manpower or resources to care for them. We have never been in this position before and it is weighing heavily on our hearts and minds. Please help by sharing this email in an effort to find good homes for them. The paint, Jack, has an adoption application pending.

If anyone has questions specific to any of the horses, please contact Ruth at ruth.green@hotmail.com or 352-262-0570. If there are questions about the adoption process, you can learn more about it on the ADOPTABLE HORSES page of our website.

A Match Game in Honor of Theresa’s Birthday!

In honor of Theresa’s birthday, two very dear friends and supporters have joined together to offer a Match Game whereby all donations up to $700 will be matched dollar for dollar!

Theresa’s wish this year, is, once again, to benefit the horses at Beauty’s Haven Farm and Equine Rescue, Inc. Many are sanctuary horses with special needs and their care is more costly than that of an average, healthy horse. The items at the top of Theresa’s wish list include Prascend (227 mg, 180 ct), Previcox (160 ct), APF-Pro (946 ml) and Equishield SA (two 2 lb. containers) at a total cost of $1375. All donations toward these needs will be so greatly appreciated by both horses and humans alike.

If you would like to make Theresa’s birthday wish come true, while doubling your donation at the same time, you may do so by forwarding your contribution via our secure Donations Page. You can also donate via PAYPAL and if you select the tab, ‘Send Money to Friends or Family,’ no fees will be deducted from your contribution. Please note that your contribution is for the’Birthday Match Game.’ Please be assured that all donations are greatly appreciated and no amount is ever too small. If you’re not in a position to donate at this time, we truly understand, but you can still help by sharing this message via social media!

Thank you to our very special Match Game sponsors and to each and every one of you for your continued love and support.

Hi everybody – it’s me, JoJo! Me and my friends were worried when Mommy Theresa had to go to the doctor last week – she got sick from food poisoning. She feels better but we still want to do something to help her to help us! Caring for us is a BIG responsibility!

We brainstormed to come up with a way to raise money on a regular basis that will help provide for our hay, grain, supplements, and other things we need. If we can build a base of consistent support, it would help a lot! Mommy Theresa stays super busy all day and into the night – that’s why she doesn’t send out many updates anymore even though she wants to. We think that because of this, donations are down and that’s not good at all.

So guess what we came up with? We created a club in memory of Betsy Rose to help! So won’t you join our “Strive for Five Club?” It’s super easy! Just go to the link below and sign up to give a recurring monthly donation of $5 (or more). If you can’t join at this time, it’s okay, but will you please share this out so maybe others can help us? Our goal is to get at least 2500 recurring monthly subscribers of at least $5! That sounds like a big goal, I know, but Mommy Theresa has 5000 “Friends” on her Facebook Page and we have over 8000 “Likes” on our Facebook Business Page. If we all try really hard, I believe we can do it! So just click on STRIVE FOR FIVE to become part of our club!

Thanks everyone! And thank you Aunties Karen and Sandra for visiting us and for all of your help and ideas!

THANK YOU TO ALL!

“Ride for the Horses 2019” was a wonderful success! Great people, great horses, great food, great prizes, great weather, it was just a great day!

We truly appreciate everyone who helped make this event a success – donors, organizers, participants – everyone! We’re already planning for the “Ride for the Horses 2020” which will be held in March of next year!

Hi Everyone,

Theresa was at the doctor most of the afternoon as she is experiencing some issues and she will most undoubtedly, be ‘off the grid’ for several days. She asked that I post a fundraiser on her behalf for our weekly hay and farrier needs, so hopefully, funds can be raised quickly, which will truly ease her mind.

In order to get through the week, we need four bales of peanut hay ($64) for Mo who is doing wonderfully and has already gained sixty pounds! The minis will need five bales of coastal hay ($40), a number of the big horses need three big compressed bales of orchard hay ($300), and the remainder of the herd need a ton of three string orchard bales ($610), for a total of $1,014. In addition, several horses are scheduled for their hooficures next week which will cost an additional $125, so the combined amount for both hay and farrier needs is $1,139.

We do have some good news, however, as a wonderful friend and supporter has just come forth to offer a MATCH GAME, whereby, all donations up to $400 will be matched!

If you would like to participate in the Match Game, you may do so by making a one-time tax-deductible donation, or sign up to make an automatic monthly recurring donation (which you can cancel at any time) via our secure WEBPAGE. You also have the option of dedicating your donation in Honor or Memory of someone. Another way to donate is via Network for Good or JustGiving – links which can be found on our ‘DONATE’ page together with our snail mail address. You can also donate via PAYPAL and if you select the tab, ‘Send Money to Friends or Family,’ no fees will be deducted from your contribution. Please note that your contribution is for the ‘Match Game.’ Please be assured that all donations are greatly appreciated and no amount is ever too small. If you’re not in a position to donate at this time, we truly understand, but you can still help by sharing out this message via social media!

Please keep Theresa in your prayers and thank you all, for your love and support!

Warmly,
Jeanne

We are very thankful for the unexpected extra help we had yesterday from Deanna and Patti! We’re also very grateful to have some new volunteers! Renee, Brook, and Christine are pictured above with Starbuck.

It’s great to have Deanna back! She volunteered a few years ago but got really busy, but now, she’s back!

That’s Patti sitting with Joie, lol.

Tony and little Lucy!

Ruby enjoyed extra attention from Deb last week. Everyone loves Ruby!
