Nicky

Nicky is another senior Thoroughbred mare we rescued on 11/29/20 from the same place that Aries and Raz came from. Nicky hadn’t been doing well but the owner wouldn’t release her. She wouldn’t eat hay that had recently been put out and she wouldn’t walk to the waterer. Food and water had to be taken to her in her paddock. This went on for a couple of days and she wasn’t improving, then thankfully we got the call that she would be released to us and we could give her the help she needed which was everything: a physical, dental, farrier, etc. As she was settling in we thought she had neurological issues, but ultimately we learned Nicky is both blind and deaf. What a special, trusting soul she is, and we are so very glad to have her in our care.
