Nickers and Cloud Dancer are father and son. In 2011, Nickers, along with many other horses including minis, were living in horrid conditions in a junkyard. They were not receiving proper care and there were a few studs in the herd. Authorities got involved and the herd was relinquished to the rescue.
Nickers was a stud that was born in 2008 and was only 3 years old at the time. He went directly to a foster home where he was gelded but he was loved so much, the foster humans adopted him.
Another mini, a mare named Glory, arrived pregnant by Nickers. Their baby Cloud Dancer was born here at the rescue in April 2011. Once Cloud was weaned, he went to live with Nickers with their adoptive family where they lived for many years. Due to no fault of their own, they had to return to the rescue in 2022.
