Derek

Beauty’s Haven adopted out Derek and Moe, two registered Arabian geldings, to the same person, a few years ago. At the end of 2018, we were notified that the horses had been taken out of state. When we contacted the adopter, they would not share the location of the horses, but after much time and research, we thankfully, located Derek. He was found in New Jersey and returned to the rescue. We were still unaware at the time, however, as to the whereabouts of Moe. However, after a few weeks of many sleepless nights worrying, and hours of research and social networking, we located Moe and he is also back at the rescue.

As you can see from the images of Derek which were taken upon his return home, he too, will require extensive rehabilitation in addition to the cost of his initial vetting, dental and farrier needs. It was an expensive endeavor to transport him back to the rescue, but we were beyond thrilled that our beloved boys were safely back at the rescue!

Update:  Derek completed rehab and is ready for a forever home as a trail horse!
