Bria

Bria, together with two pasture mates, Rascal and Zoomer, were abandoned on foreclosed property.  Bria was 30 years old and not in the best of shape. This photo was taken a few days before she came to us.

Bria and her friends arrived at Beauty’s Haven in the nick of time as it was the first night that temperatures dipped down into the 40’s, accompanied by horrific winds. We were most certain that these three beautiful souls were very thankful when we let them settle into a paddock with a nice shelter from the elements, clean water, and an ample supply of wonderful hay.

Bria lived out her sunset years here at Beauty’s Haven as a special needs sanctuary horse.  She couldn’t grind her food and required a special diet fed in six small soft meals a day. Bria had old tendon and ligament issues – dropped fetlocks, never a good thing. She likely had a few foals which took an additional toll on her. She was comforted by her friend Little E in the end, taking daily afternoon naps together.
