Shai needs help. She has no sponsors – not one. When it comes to providing proper care to the horses here, nothing is inexpensive. Grain, hay, farrier work, vetting, deworming, fly spray, fly masks, etc. – it’s all costly. Please, if anyone can help provide for Shai’s needs, it would be so greatly appreciated.

Contributions are tax deductible and please be assured that no amount is ever too small. Just click on the ‘Donate’ button below. We cannot do what we do without your help.

Thank you in advance for your love and support!

Shai had been “living” in a very small pen with several goats and a steer. She was seized during a cruelty investigation. This mare’s needs were neglected for quite some time. She is shy, untrusting, and afraid of humans. She literally shakes with fear.

Our Christmas present to her was a safe place to land and a promise that she will never be neglected or mistreated again.

Shai has had a very rough life but she has us now – the Beauty’s Haven family. She needs sponsors for her initial and ongoing care, no amount is too small.

We continue to remain busy here at the rescue and the days are over before we know it. The temps are down a bit, which thankfully, provides some relief for both horses and humans alike, but especially for our horses who don’t sweat.

Some of you may remember Nash. He’s now back at the rescue – a rainbow appeared out of nowhere and welcomed him upon his arrival a few days ago! He’s another precious senior, born in 1992, and is a grandson of Dash for Cash.

Nash is in need of sponsors to help with his vetting, farrier, dental, and routine needs. These are his health issues we are currently treating:

  • He has infections in 3 of 4 feet – he was CleanTrax’d yesterday.
  • He’s underweight so his diet has been modified to better suit his needs.
  • His bloodwork indicated that he’s anemic and there are some other highs and lows as well.
  • Nash has a high parasite load (1500+ EPG) so we’ve started him on a deworming protocol as prescribed by the vet.
  • He’s being treated with Succeed for ulcers – this will also help his immune system.
  • Once his immune system is improved, he will need vaccinations. He will also require a Panacur PowerPak as well as be seen by Dr. Bess, our equine dentist, for dental work.

Would anyone like to help sweet Nash?

Why should you Virtually Adopt?

It is a great way to support the work of Beauty’s Haven Farm and Equine Rescue, Inc. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming horses that have been neglected, abused, and/or abandoned, and provide permanent sanctuary for those with special needs. We give them a second chance at a life without pain or worry, a life with dignity and respect. We are passionate about educating the public on proper horse care, welfare issues such as horse slaughter, and the steps to take when encountering cases of cruelty or neglect. With your help, we can continue to help horses in need.

A few weeks ago, we were asked to help three horses whose owner, due to health issues, could no longer care for them. At the time we had a number of pending adoptions that we believed would soon be moving forward, but these adoptions have been postponed for a few months, possibly until September. Since these horses needed immediate help, we opted to care for them in place until we could bring them to the rescue. A few days later, however, one of the horses colicked and the vet recommended we bring her here to ensure she received everything she needed. That was Spring and she is doing well.

Due to unforeseen circumstances it now appears that we will have to bring the two remaining horses to Beauty’s Haven as soon as possible. I’m not sure where we will put them, but one thing is certain, we cannot leave them behind.

We are thereby reaching out to you in hope that we can procure sponsors to help us help these sweet horses.

If you would like to help, you can do so by making a one-time tax deductible donation, or sign up to make an automatic monthly recurring donation via our secure form which you may cancel at anytime. You also have the option of making your donation in honor or in memory of someone.

We were contacted about a mare that has lived alone for many, many years. She needs everything – an initial vet exam with bloodwork, dental and farrier work, as well as assistance with her aftercare. Bringing a horse in is just the beginning. Dr. Julia is scheduled for Monday to pull Coggins on some of the horses and I’d like to get this mare here before then so she can be vetted. If anyone would like to assist in helping with the initial and ongoing expenses of this sweet mare or contribute toward the Coggins tests (total $395) on our other ‘Velvet Nosers,’ it would be so greatly appreciated.

Donations may be forwarded via various means here on our secure website. If you wish, you can also sign up to make an automatic monthly donation of any amount which may be discontinued at any time.

You can also forward a donation via PayPalMe. If donating via PayPal, please designate your contribution to ‘Lonely Mare’ and/or ‘Coggins.’ If you select the tab, ‘Send Money to Friends or Family,’ no fees will be deducted from your contribution. All donations are tax deductible and no amount is ever too small. If you’re not in a position to donate at this time, we completely understand, but you can still help by sharing this need via social media or amongst family and friends (see links at the bottom of this post).

Thank you!

This is Mo Shahtef’s Prize – Mo for short! Mo is a 20-year-old registered Arabian recovered from an “adoption gone bad.” It was truly a relief when we learned that Mo was okay and where he was located, thanks to social media, prayers, and good-hearted people willing to do the right thing.

Mo was given or sold to someone by the adopter and then went to a number of other homes. Thankfully, he landed with someone who reached out to us when they learned of the situation. This person has a huge heart and has dedicated her life to helping animals and we’re so very grateful that she and her family opened up their home to Mo when he was in need. And, contrary to the assumptions of some, the person was offered the opportunity to adopt Mo but since she has other horses and animals that she has rescued and wishes to continue to help others, Mo’s departure opened up a space for yet another precious animal in need.

When we reached out for help to find Derek and Mo, many of you took precious time to share our posts, make calls, etc. Your support was a reminder to us that we weren’t alone and that there are still good people in this world. You all set an example for what can happen when people work together to do the right thing. The light from our village of supporters shines brightly and I’m so very proud of each and every one of you! As our village grows, so does the light and as long as we stay in the light, we’ll never be alone. And all of the time we were searching for the boys, Betsy Rose was always in my head and heart reminding me to never give up and to believe.

Mo and Derek both need sponsors as soon as possible to cover vetting, dentals, hooficures, supplements, feed/hay, etc. If you can help with a one time, or recurring monthly donation, there are many ways in which to do so. Donations can be made via our WEBSITE, via PAYPAL, or via PAYPALME. If donating via PayPal, please designate your donation to “Derek/Mo”. If you select the tab, ‘Send Money to Friends or Family,’ no fees will be deducted from your contribution. All donations are tax deductible and no contribution is ever too small. God bless you all and thank you so very much!

Venus & Nadia

These two lovely Arabians still need sponsors to help with their ongoing care. They were adopted out a few years ago but had to return to the rescue a few weeks ago through no fault of their own. Nadia is 21 years young and is truly, a lovely mare. As you can see in this video, Venus, a 32 years young bay, is truly, “Poetry in Motion!”

We can’t do what we do without support from others. And providing proper care of a horse isn’t inexpensive. Please consider making a one time donation or a monthly recurring donation to help these beautiful girls. All donations are tax deductible and no amount is too small. Thank you.

Sophie went to keep another horse company for a few months but recently returned. She gets along with everyone and is so very easy to love. She is now looking for a forever home as a companion or trail horse.

Sophie has no sponsors to help with her care. Isn’t there anyone who would like to help with her needs by making a one time or recurring monthly tax deductible donation?

JoJo really does try to help as you can see by clicking here to view his latest ‘Public Service Announcement.’

Hooficures are scheduled for many horses next week. Would anyone like to help? We need to raise $575. Perhaps someone would like to offer a match game? Donations are tax deductible and can be made via various ways on our website at www.bhfer.org/donate. Our PayPal address is bhfer@earthlink.net. If you can help, please note that your donation is for ‘hooficures.’

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and thank you, all, for your continued love and support!
