In 2011, a herd of horses, including minis and several studs, were living in deplorable conditions in a junkyard. As they were not receiving proper care, the authorities became involved and the herd  was relinquished to Beauty’s Haven. One member of this little herd was Nickers, a very sweet stud born in 2008, who was only three years old at the time. Nickers went directly to a foster home where he was gelded soon thereafter and since he was so very much loved, his foster parents decided to adopt him.

Another member of this little herd was a mini mare named Glory who was in foal upon her arrival at Beauty’s Haven, her baby having been sired by Nickers. Glory and. Nicker’s baby, Cloud Dancer. was born here at the rescue in April 2011. Once Cloud Dancer was weaned, he went to reside with Nickers and his adoptive family. After many years of happily residing with their beloved family, they were returned to Beauty’s Haven in 2022, through no fault of their own.

And now, this wonderful little father and son duo is embarking upon a wonderful new journey with Grief on the Go and Tomorrow ‘s Rainbow Coping Academy’s mobile programs as grief and trauma counselors, where they will be bringing joy and healing to children in underserved communities across Broward and Palm Beach counties. Though we miss them dearly, we are so very proud of our sweet boys.

Candace and her mom, Lady Sophia, are doing well at the trainer’s. They’re making new friends and Candace is becoming a bit more independent each day. Amanda Hill (Legacy Hill Sport Horses) is working with Sophia to figure out what she will be happy and comfortable doing. It’s just not the same here at the farm without them, but they are where they need to be to prepare for the next chapter in their life.

We are now accepting adoption applications for Lady Sophia and Candace (to be adopted together) even though they are not yet ready for adoption. Applicants must be experienced with foals and be able to demonstrate their ability to work with both of the girls (natural horsemanship methods only) and continue with their training. Boarding situations will not be considered. Both Candace and Lady Sophia are healthy, kind, smart, honest, and willing to learn. They will make their adoptive human very proud.

Elvis and Ford have hit the jackpot! They have been adopted into a wonderful home with someone who has adopted from us in the past. It’s a true blessing! We really did not want to separate them. Ford is 13 years young and really loves his little pony, Elvis, who is approximately 30 years young. They have had many changes in their life recently, but now, they have sunny days ahead in their new, loving, forever home. Enjoy the sweet video below of the boys happily prancing about in their lovely new paddock!

Thank you Maggie!

Sincerely,
Theresa

I’ve been meaning to post these images for quite some time now – I’m behind, as usual, on many things. Remi and Sassy have stalls next to each other. We all know Freckles and Jerry, the Giraffe like to tell night time stories so a board was removed between the two stalls. Now, the girls can look in on one another as well as the story tellers. Freckles is with Sassy and Jerry stays with Remi. I think the girls really appreciate it.

I have some really good (bittersweet) news to share! I don’t know how many of you remember Whiskers, the day-old orphan donkey that came to us four years ago – a very similar situation to Remi’s. Well, his human mom and dad came to the farm on Monday to hang out with Remi.

I’ve been working with Remi on a few things and she was such a good girl – I was so proud of her and I’m sure she made a great impression on her visitors! She tied, picked up her feet, was great about her ears being touched, walked nicely, backed up, and even helped clean feed tubs during the visit. If you haven’t seen Remi’s progress, I have included a short video which can be viewed by clicking on the above image.

So, here’s the news… Remi is going to have a big brother, Whiskers!

She will be living at a very nice farm not far from the rescue. Remi and Whiskers will become the very best of friends, I’m sure. I can’t imagine the days without Remi here but this is what we do. It will be very hard when she goes. I’m not going to dwell on it. For now, I’ll treasure each and every moment and we will keep having fun.

Sincerely,
Theresa

It’s challenging to find homes for any horse at this time but to find a wonderful home for three old friends, together, well it’s a miracle! Spring, Satin, and Lightning are truly blessed – they now have their own human family that adores them!

Thank you to all who helped them on their remarkable journey.

Sincerely,
Theresa

This little kitten became an orphan at just two weeks old when her mom was hit by a car while carrying her sister across the road during a thunderstorm. A caring human found this very frightened, hungry and flea infested baby huddled nearby and brought her to Beauty’s Haven where she was lovingly cared for. We named her Zoie.

The next day, we took Zoie to the vet for an exam and bloodwork and thankfully, she was just fine. Only a few days later, we received a call from a long time friend and supporter who was looking for a kitten to adopt! It was a match made in Heaven!

I’m happy to report that Zoie is now all settled in her new home and is doing great! She has a big sister (cat) and a human who loves her to pieces.

Zoie’s vetting is all taken care of (vaccines, microchip, spaying, etc.) thanks to our wonderful village of supporters who have helped us help this precious baby girl. Thank you all! And thank you, Lynda, for opening your heart and home to Zoie.

Please enjoy this heartwarming video featuring our precious kitten, Zoie, who never gave up!

Hello Everyone,

The new arrivals are doing well. The oldest mare, Bria, was born in 1990, the dark bay mare, Rascal, was born in 1994 and Zoomer, the chestnut, was born in 2000.

When they arrived on Tuesday, they were curious, but cautious. What seemed most intriguing to Zoomer were the minis – it was like he just couldn’t figure out what they were up to and why they’re so small!

On Wednesday past, Dr. Julia came to do exams (including blood tests) on the new arrivals. Andrew came to do hooficures and Dr. Bess came to do much needed dental work on both Dancer and Bria. We truly have a great care team!

I do have some very good news to share, however! Zoomer and Rascal left for their new home yesterday! They are so very blessed to have a loving home just in time for the holidays! We’re very excited for them!

Bria, the senior mare, will likely, live out her life here at the rescue as a special needs sanctuary horse. I know she would be very appreciative to have sponsors to assist with her care, so if anyone would like to make a one time donation or sign up to become a monthly sponsor for this sweet girl, we and she would be forever grateful!

There are many ways in which to donate. You may forward your donation via various means here on our Website or via PayPalMe. Please note that your donation is for “Bria.” If you donate via PayPal, please select the tab “Send Money to Friends or Family,” and no fees will be deducted from your contribution.

Thank you, all, so very much, for your love and support.

Letting these little ones go is hard – it’s so difficult when any animal here gets adopted and leaves for their new home. It’s bittersweet but it’s what we do. They deserve their own human family.  We so enjoyed watching the kittens’ antics, especially our Energizer Kitten, Jasper. Please CLICK HERE and your heart will sing with joy!

Jasper has now settled into his new adoptive home – the same home where Velvet lives!  Thank you, Peter and Patti, for opening your hearts and home to another Beauty’s Haven family member!

Congratulations Peter, Patti and Jasper!

This precious little girl, Lynx, has found her forever home with someone who has been a friend and supporter of Beauty’s Haven ever since I can remember! Greg Jones has adopted her and she is en-route to her new home in Connecticut!

God really is good – I’ll always believe! Congratulations, Greg and Lynx!

Many thanks to everyone who donated to help our precious kitten family,
Jasper, Jasmin, and Lynx!

This is an urgent matter and we need your help.

We’ve been hit very hard these past few months with horses that were adopted out years ago, but had to come back to us (at no fault of their own). We try hard to match the right horse to the right human in situations where we are assured the horse(s) will become a permanent family member and have a loving forever home. But, as we’ve experienced over the last year or so, people’s priorities change, illness is real, jobs require relocation and they can’t take the horse(s), the adopter’s interests may have moved on to something new in their life, etc.

Two Arabian mares, Nadia and Venus, were returned by their adopter who had been ill. She could no longer care for these beautiful girls and, sadly, she recently, passed away. She found comfort knowing that Nadia and Venus would be forever safe.

We had to reclaim two Arabian geldings, Mo and Derek, that were at high risk due to a breach of contract – it was not a good experience for us, or the horses. We are grateful that both were located and are now safe here at the rescue. They are both undergoing rehabilitation.

We also had another Arabian, Kaliko, come back and Zahara will be returning from training within the next couple of weeks.

THE URGENCY: In 2010, we adopted out three horses, Anastasia, Jack, and Velvet, to the same home. The adopter just sold their home and notified us that the horses must be off the property by April 30th. We are simply full and have no paddocks in which to put another horse, and, even if we did, we don’t have the needed manpower or resources to care for them. We have never before been in this position and it’s truly disconcerting, to say the least. We have been working diligently on finding homes for these horses and thankfully, we found homes for Jack and Anastasia. Jack settled into his new home this past week and we are trying to keep Anastasia with Velvet until a home can also be found for Velvet. We will then schedule the two mares to leave for their respective homes at the same time.

Velvet is a 15 year old Warmblood that stands 15 hh and she is currently located in Morriston, FL. She’s very sweet and takes after her sire, a Swedish Warmblood named Donnermeyer. Here is an excerpt from the breeder’s page about her sire which sounds like Velvet through and through:

“Donnermeyer’s best trait is his beautiful mind. He is a very easy going stallion, who is regularly complimented for his sweet nature. He is gentle and kind, truly wants to please, and loves people. He is like a puppy-dog, filled with personality, and a pleasure to be around. He also passes this onto his offspring.”

Velvet has an old knee injury as a result of being kicked as a foal and she therefore, cannot be ridden but she would make a wonderful pasture pal. She loves people and kids. She is a huge help with other horses – she will work side by side with her human to help catch another horse, letting them know its okay. Velvet loves attention and being groomed and scratched – she will stand by your side all day long. She does not like to be cross tied but she does well being ground tied. She is up to date on her Coggins, vaccinations, and feet.

Please spread the word, we don’t have much time left. April 30th will be here in no time.

Thank you, all so very much!

The paint, Jack, has an adoption application pending.
