BHFER Update 05/08/12

We hope everyone is having a great week. We are FINALLY getting some much needed rain – a good time for me to do an update and to share some pictures!

Baby Girl was recently moved into a paddock with Legacy, Nikole, and Classy. Legacy ran to welcome her – he’s quite charming!

And he did a great job – we thought they’d become best friends.

Then Nikole entered the picture and the rest has been history. Baby Girl adores hanging out with Nikole!

MoonShadow is doing better each day – he is quite animated at times now. He’s also pretty vocal. He got a much needed bath this past weekend. He is getting Thrive, a feed that was donated to him. I had the name and phone number of the donor written down and now I can’t find it! If Lisa is reading this – please call me!

Talk about needing a dentist – poor Estrella! The left side was as bad as the right. In the picture on the right below – the left tooth had been taken down to where it should be. Estrella is a very sweet Paso Fino that is looking for a home. She’s here at the rescue and has made friends with Peggy Sue.

The kids share a sprinkler. I’m glad to report that Gentleman is feeling pretty good and carrying himself much better!

Lady Jane – she always looks so regal!

Archer is a tall and strikingly handsome 7 year old Standardbred that is looking for a forever home. He hasn’t been at the rescue long and needs to put on some more weight and he needs to muscle up! But he is a very, very sweet boy that is in your pocket! We don’t think he’s had any training but he will be quick to learn. He’s up to date on everything. His adoption fee is only $200 – that doesn’t cover the amount of funds we have put into his rehab. But then again, it isn’t about money. It’s about the horse and the right forever home.

Colostrum we ordered from Rood & Riddle arrived today so we’re good there. Lacey and her baby are keeping us all waiting on a healthy and happy delivery.

Please don’t forget about the fundraiser – Lacey’s breeding date was June 11th, 2012.

And don’t forget about our Celebration of Life event which is to be held on May 27th here at the rescue. Please RSVP me at bhfer if you plan to attend!

And now we’re off to the City Council meeting where our daughter, Katie, is being presented an award for being high school student of the month!

Thank you all for your continued support – without you we couldn’t do what we do!

Sincerely,
Theresa
