BH February 6 – 9 Update
February 6th
Betsy Rose has such a kind heart.
Cookie always reassures Daisy that Dr. Mangan will take good care of her.
February 8th
JoJo showed up bright and early to help with the office chores!
Finally getting the round pen back together!! Mishka rammed through the gate many weeks ago and broke it.
Aaleyah Belle and her famous tongue.
Would anyone like to help Matilda? She has something going on in both of her eyes. A cataract in the right and I’m not sure what’s going on in the left – a flare-up of uveitis perhaps in both. We do think she needs to be seen by Dr. Ryan who will be out tomorrow to try to figure out why Athena is lame.

Matilda is such a big love! Dr. Ryan checked out her eye today and referred her to Dr. Mangan. It’s believed she may have keratitis. Dr. Mangan will be back out in a couple of weeks to follow-up on Daisy and he will check Matilda then unless it gets worse and then he will come sooner. She doesn’t have an ulceration and it doesn’t seem to be causing her discomfort. I will try to get a better photo tomorrow. To everyone who has pledged to help her – thank you! I will not have a final cost for a couple of weeks but will post again if more funds are needed.
Athena’s exam didn’t go so well. Dr. Ryan will be back tomorrow to do some x-rays. Athena has come a long way since she arrived. She’s another very sweet girl. I won’t have the total amount needed to cover her vet bills for a couple of weeks.
Dr. Ryan having a little fun with the donkeys. JoJo was trying to be a camera hog as always!
The long ears on the prowl today.
Betsy Rose is excited about the upcoming 6th Annual Celebration of Life being held here at the rescue – it’s combined with the ASPCA Help A Horse Day on April 25th! Mark your calendars – we hope to see you!
